Forty-eight hours is not enough time to understand Dhaka. But it is enough time to eat well, see the essential things, and get a sense of why people who live here cannot imagine living anywhere else.

This itinerary assumes you have access to a car and driver, which in Dhaka is the only sensible way to navigate. Traffic is real, distances are not always what maps suggest, and the best food is rarely on the most obvious street.
