We got an early look inside the multi-level coffee roastery taking over road 11 — and it might be the most ambitious café project Dhaka has seen.

The space on Road 11 has been a construction site for eight months. The scaffolding came down last week, and what has been revealed is unlike anything the city’s café scene has produced before.
Four floors. A glass-fronted roasting room on the ground level where customers can watch the roasting process. A cupping lab on the second floor open for public sessions on weekends. A full café and kitchen on the third. A roof terrace on the fourth.
The owners — a partnership between two veteran Dhaka café operators and a specialty coffee importer — have been planning this for three years…
